I'm an Emmy award winning broadcast meteorologist who spent 43 years on television tracking weather. Now retired, my wife and I garden, am a speaker to schools, clubs, organizations and volunteer. I collect and share weather folklore and help folks better understand what to do before, during, and after storms.
I hold both a bachelor of science degree in meteorology and a bachelor of arts degree in communications. But my real education came from following weather patterns for over 4 decades.
I do presentations about severe weather safety, basic weather information, weather and gardening, and weather folklore.
I am married to my high school sweetheart, Jo Ann, and we have two children and two amazing grandchildren. We are empty nesters now and I do a lot of volunteer work. I deliver for Meals on Wheels, I am a docent at the Church Studio (A recording studio started by Leo Russell in Tulsa) and a Master Gardener.
My wife has a YouTube channel called "Turnips and Tornadoes" and I am her assistant. We do cooking and gardening videos.
